Ramana Maharshi on World War II

Ramana Maharshi, the sage of Arunachala, seldom commented on world events but  in a conversation in 1938 with Mercedes de Acosta, a screenwriter from Hollywood, he accurately predicted the outbreak of World War II. This conversation is recorded in de Costa’s book Here lies the Heart.

“I sat in the hall with Bhagavan three days and three nights. Sometimes he spoke to me; other times he was silent and I did not interrupt his silence. Often he was in samadhi. I wanted to stay on there with him but finally he told me that I should go back to America. He said, “There will be what will be called a ‘war,’ but which, in reality, will be a great world revolution. Every country and every person will be touched by it. You must return to America. Your destiny is not in India at this time.” Before leaving the ashram, Bhagavan gave me some verses he had selected from the Yoga Vasishta. He said they contained the essence for the path of a pure life.”

Having read the link, I had to find the verses given to her, which are a real treasure:

“Steady in the state of fullness, which shines when all desires are given up, and peaceful in the state of freedom in life, act playfully in the world, O Raghava!”

“Inwardly free from all desires, dispassionate and detached, but outwardly active in all directions, act playfully in the world, O Raghava!”

“Free from egoism, with mind detached as in sleep, pure like the sky, ever untainted, act playfully in the world, O Raghava!”

“Conducting yourself nobly with kindly tenderness, outwardly conforming to conventions, but inwardly renouncing all, act playfully in the world, O Raghava!”

“Quite unattached at heart but for all appearance acting as with attachment, inwardly cool but outwardly full of fervour, act playfully in the world, O Raghava!”

Often the spiritual quest is made to seem humourless and dully earnest. Not so, it is after all a Lila!

    Champaklal‘s notes from 20.4.1950:

When the Mother came to Sri Aurobindo’s room today, she spoke of Kapali Sastri’s devotion and his new opening. She also mentioned the new opening that Ganapati Sastri had.
Mother said: “Ramana Maharshi had been coming to me for the last two days. I had not known, at that time, that he had passed away. But I had a very strong feeling.”¹

¹ Raman Maharshi passed away on April 14th. At the time of his departure Mother was sitting outdoors in the Playground taking her French class. When a large shooting star passed through the evening sky, she is reported to have said, “A great soul has passed away.”

“The Sage of Arunachala” is a 73-minute documentary on the life and teachings of Sri Ramana Maharshi. With a compelling narration by the acclaimed “Discovery Channel” celebrity, John Flynn. This film takes us from the birth of the sage to his final moments when crowds of devotees pushed in from all sides to have their last darshan (look) of the Sage.

Produced in 1992 by Arunachala Ashrama, New York, in cooperation with Sri Ramanasramam, India. DVDs of this and other videos on Sri Ramana Maharshi are available at both these Ashrams.

Swami Vivekananda’s biographer S.N.Dhar draws attention to the political acumen and prescience of Vivekananda.

While traveling through Europe, Swami Vivekananda seems to have correctly predicted the outbreak of the First World War about 14 years before it started. The following passage is from his “Memoirs of European Travel”:

Swami Vivekananda: “In the present times a huge wave of nationalism is sweeping over Europe, where people speaking the same tongue, professing the same religion, and belonging to the same race want to unite together. Wherever such union is being effectively accomplished, there is great power being manifested; and where this is impossible, death is inevitable. After the death of the present Austrian Emperor, (Francis Joseph II died in 1916) Germany will surely try to absorb the German-speaking portion of the Austrian Empire — and Russia and others are sure to oppose her; so there is the possibility of a dreadful war. The present Emperor being very old, that catastrophe may take place very early. The German Emperor is nowadays an ally of the Sultan of Turkey; and when Germany will attempt to seize Austrian territory, Turkey, which is Russia’s enemy, will certainly offer some resistance to Russia; so the German Emperor is very friendly towards Turkey.”

His observations about the Balkan nations falling prey to Russia also came true decades later. The Soviet Union was created after the Second World War:

Swami Vivekananda: “After much bloodshed and many wars, they (Serbia and Bulgaria) have thrown off the yoke of Turkey; but along with this they have got a serious disadvantage — they must construct their army after the European model, otherwise the existence of not one of them is safe for a day. Of course, sooner or later they will all one day be absorbed by Russia; but even this two days’ existence is impossible without an army. So they must have conscription.”

Dilip Kumar Roy meets the Maharshi

After having been for weeks in the grip of a deep gloom, I wrote straight to Sri Aurobindo. He wrote back at once giving me the needed permission, which I deeply appreciated.

I took the train to Tiruvannamalai where Ramana Maharshi lived. But as the train rolled on I felt a deep and growing malaise … How could I win the needed peace at the feet of one who was not my Guru when I could not attain it at the feet of my revered Guru, Sri Aurobindo, whose wisdom and greatness my heart had never once questioned.

Well, I alighted at the station in a mixed frame of mind…

l came across this letter without really looking, which was written by Albert Pike – apparently instructec by some spirit [Pike is the father of Freemason, l believe or at least the most revered of them]. The dates attached to this letter are uncanny in relation to SA. l don’t have much interest in the New World Order or llluminati as such, but this was a strange synchronicity…
The letter was sent in 1871 on August 15th. SA;s birthday and also SA was born in 1872 just a little after it was written.

“Following the Un-Civil Morrill Tax War, Pike & Mazzini planned the takeover of the world. Pike designed a plan for world conquest and wrote of it in a letter to Mazzini dated August 15, 1871. He said three future world wars would prepare the world for the New World Order.

Albert Pike’s plan for the Illuminati was as simple as it has proved effective. He required that Communism, Naziism, Political Zionism, and other International movements be organized and used to foment the three global wars and three major revolutions:
“The First World War must be brought about in order to permit the Illuminati to overthrow the power of the Czars in Russia and of making that country a fortress of atheistic Communism. The divergences caused by the “agentur” (agents) of the Illuminati between the British and Germanic Empires will be used to foment this war. At the end of the war, Communism will be built and used in order to destroy the other governments and in order to weaken the religions.” – Albert Pike’s letter to Mazzini, dated August 15, 1871.”

“The Second World War must be fomented by taking advantage of the differences between the Fascists and the political Zionists. This war must be brought about so that Nazism is destroyed and that the political Zionism be strong enough to institute a sovereign state of Israel in Palestine. During the Second World War, International Communism must become strong enough in order to balance Christendom, which would be then restrained and held in check until the time when we would need it for the final social cataclysm.”- Albert Pike’s letter to Mazzini, dated August 15, 1871.”

And now the third world war:
“The Third World War must be fomented by taking advantage of the differences caused by the “agentur” of the “Illuminati” between the political Zionists and the leaders of Islamic World. The war must be conducted in such a way that Islam (the Moslem Arabic World) and political Zionism (the State of Israel) mutually destroy each other. Meanwhile the other nations, once more divided on this issue will be constrained to fight to the point of complete physical, moral, spiritual and economical exhaustion…We shall unleash the Nihilists and the atheists, and we shall provoke a formidable social cataclysm which in all its horror will show clearly to the nations the effect of absolute atheism, origin of savagery and of the most bloody turmoil. Then everywhere, the citizens, obliged to defend themselves against the world minority of revolutionaries, will exterminate those destroyers of civilization, and the multitude, disillusioned with Christianity, whose deistic spirits will from that moment be without compass or direction, anxious for an ideal, but without knowing where to render its adoration, will receive the true light through the universal manifestation of the pure doctrine of Lucifer, brought finally out in the public view. This manifestation will result from the general reactionary movement which will follow the destruction of Christianity and atheism, both conquered and exterminated at the same time.” – Albert Pike’s letter to Mazzini, dated August 15, 1871.”

Who knows, but the dates fascinated me.

Yes sandeep. you may be right. l had read something about the hoax being refuted, but l’ve done some further research and according to this link the letter doesn’t exist.

    http://www.conspiracyarchive.com/Articles/Pike-Mazzini_Three-World-Wars.htm

The author in the link has really done a really thorough examination and unless he’s lying, it seems obvious the ‘letter’ is a hoax – although, the dates are still weirdly co-incidental.
l didn’t take the link you provided too seriously, because it was a masonic website [their not going to admit it are they lol].

Anyway, sorry to have wasted your time with this, but we can put it to rest now and it’s always good to get to the Truth.
